Bob Stallings Hyundai was humbled to provide the 2015 White Hyundai Sonata for the kids to paint today. It was pretty fun. The kids even put hand prints on the doctor's coats.
Following the event, Marcus and Lindsey made a short presentation about Hyundai Hope on Wheels with their own staff. They are hoping that this will boost morale among the sales department. The Bob Stallings Hyundai employees are as devoted to children's issues as the sentiment coming from Hyundai themselves.

HYUNDAI HOPE ON WHEELS AWARDS $250,000
RESEARCH GRANT TO CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER DALLAS IN HONOR OF NATIONAL
CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Hyundai Hope On Wheels will award $9 million in the month of September,
surpassing $87 million in funding for nationwide fight against pediatric cancer
since 1998
DALLAS, T.X.
– September 8, 2014 – Hyundai Hope On Wheels® and Dallas-area Hyundai dealers will today award Children’s Medical Center Dallas a $250,000 Hyundai
Scholar Hope Grant for pediatric cancer research. The grant funds will support the work of Dr. Ted
Laetsch, who is developing a more effective way to treat sarcoma in children by
using a revolutionary technology to heat and deliver chemotherapy to tumors
while sparing normal tissue in the body.
Children’s
Medical Center Foundation is one of 36 recipients across the country to receive
a 2014 Hyundai Scholar Hope Grant. In
all, Hope On Wheels will award $9 million in research grants this September in
honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Children’s Medical Center Dallas, a long-time
partner of the organization, along with UT Southwestern Medical Center, has received $640,000 from Hope On Wheels since 2011.
Dr. Ted
Laetsch, who treats patients in the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and
Blood Disorders at Children’s, commented: “This is promising research
for children with cancer. It is central to our mission at Children’s Medical
Center, and it would not be possible without the grant from Hyundai Hope On
Wheels.”
The
$250,000 grant to Dr. Ted Laetsch, who is also an assistant professor of
pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, will be officially presented
during a Hope On Wheels Handprint Ceremony at Children’s
Medical Center Dallas on Monday, September 8. During
the ceremony, Hope On Wheels
will commemorate Dallas-area children affected by cancer by capturing their
handprints on a white 2014 Hyundai Sonata.
Hope On Wheels believes that “Every
Handprint Tells A Story,” which is the namesake of its September awareness
campaign. That is why, in addition to
funding 36 research projects in September, Hope On Wheels will launch the
latest advancement of its Every Handprint Tells A Story campaign with a new web
experience on HyundaiHopeOnWheels.org/September. The website will offer an interactive experience where supporters
can view videos of courageous children sharing insights into their personal
battles with cancer and learn about the work of cancer researchers known as
Hyundai Scholars. Visitors to the site
can also post and share messages of hope for children and families impacted by
the disease.
Over the
last 16 years, our dealers have worked in partnership with Hyundai in one
common goal: to find a cure for a disease that affects far too many of our
children,” said Dave Zuchowski, president and chief executive officer, Hyundai
Motor America, and board member of Hyundai Hope On Wheels. “Dallas-area Hyundai
dealers are an important part of this effort, and we could not be doing this
good work without their continued support.”
